Deb is a high-achieving sales professional who has spent her entire career in the pet and animal industry and is able to draw on her background as a veterinary nurse, which gives her a unique perspective and the ability to understand the needs of our members.

Kirst Mallia

Kirst has always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but life took her on a different path—one that still keeps her close to animals. With a strong background in sales and account management, Kirst now brings her expertise to UVG, supporting veterinary professionals with tailored solutions to help their practices thrive. Outside of work, she indulges her passion for animals by pet-sitting whenever the opportunity arises, alongside her beloved fur baby, Charlie the French Bulldog, who keeps her on her toes and ensures there’s never a dull moment.

Melissa Smyth

Mel has been part of the veterinary industry for over 25 years. She began her career as a junior nurse and worked her way up to Practice Manager, gaining experience in GP clinics as well as specialist, emergency, and critical care settings. Transitioning from clinic work to sales, she has spent the past 18 years with various pharmaceutical companies, managing territories across NSW, ACT, and WA. Her deep passion for the industry, its people, and the pets they care for makes veterinary work the only place she can imagine being. As UVG's BDM, Mel is committed to supporting you, your team, and your business in achieving success by understanding your needs and delivering tailored solutions. Based on the Central Coast, she enjoys spending her free time at the beach, riding, and caring for her two horses, two cats, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Mel has over ten years of experience working in both human and veterinary pharmacies. She has a passion for inventory management and a talent for developing policies, procedures and innovative systems to streamline stock control and help practices reach their highest potential. Mel has previously worked in Animal Welfare in a shelter environment assisting with re-homing and rehabilitation.
